WTF is the big deal about the date August 8th 2008? The only half way interesting thing happening today is the start of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Eight the number for prosperity and luck in Chinese Culture apparently. But this is not the eighth year in fact its 2000 years too late just since the A.D era, not to mention all the years gone in the B.C. and C.E. eras. Hell at least last year casinos were pimping 777 as time to gamble and leisure. Even plane tickets to Vegas from just about anywhere were only $7.77. What do people get today? Higher gas prices? It would not bothered me so much if there was anything practical or significant to people's fascination with the date. The only good for people gettign married today is the fact it makes anniversaries easier to remember. Sorry for the rant. I will try to have more raves in the future.
